Welcome to the Laboratory of Corbin D. Jones in the department of Biology at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

Our lab is generally interested in the study of genetic mutation, evolution, and adaptation of living organisms. Specifically, we utilize Drosophila, or the common fruit fly, as a genetic model when conducting our research and projects. In the Corbin Jones lab, our work not only explores model systems but also next-generation genomic tools and the emergence of new diseases. We discern our exploration by employing modern technologies such as DNA/RNA sequencing to further our understanding and reach a more concise conclusion.
